Medical examination and medical documents obtaining
Who has to pass medical examinations?
- Foreign citizens temporarily staying in the Russian Federation for the purpose of labour activities (Including HQS. Not dependent on the length of stay).
- Foreign citizens temporarily staying in the Russian Federation for other purposes for more than 90 calendar days.
Who is exempt from medical examination?
- Citizens of the Republic of Belarus
- Officials of international organizations entering the Russian Federation in connection with their official duties as well as their family members
- Children under the age of 6.
Heads of diplomatic missions, consular offices of foreign countries and their family members.
Deadlines for medical examination:
- Within 30 calendar days from the date of entry (or when applying for a patent, work permit) - for foreign citizens arriving for labour activities.
- Within 90 calendar days from the date of entry- for foreign citizens arriving for other purposes for a period of more than 90 calendar days.
When to update the medical examination documents (re-examination)?
- Once a year - for everyone except HQS and accompanying family members of HQS
- When applying for work permit renewing – for HQS and accompanying family members of HQS
- Within 30 calendar days from the date of entry into the Russian Federation, if they were outside the Russian Federation on the date of such a decision – HQS family members.
Where to pass medical examination?

Who has to pass the procedure?

- Persons who have already passed the procedure.

In the migration departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs territorial bodies, as well as in other subordinate enterprises in accordance with the list established in the territory of the relevant constituent entity of the Russian Federation. For non-compliance with the requirements for passing medical examination and fingerprinting and photographing procedures, the following sanctions may be applied to foreign citizens: fines, cancellation of a patent or work permit, reduction of the period of temporary stay, deportation, ban on entry into the Russian Federation.
